


“THE BLACKDAMP was born out of my fascination with the psychological terrain of isolation and fear, especially when filtered through the lens of folklore and superstition. I’ve always been drawn to stories that merge myth with memory — where landscapes hold secrets and people are left to interpret silence and darkness.”

Adam Szabolcs Oros (born July 1, 2004) is a Hungarian filmmaker and producer based in New York City, and currently attends the New York Film Academy. He is best known for writing and directing the period horror film, THE BLACKDAMP. His films are noted for their use of folkloric, mythological and religious elements. He has also produced and was assistant director for a variety of films such as The Dead River (2025), Empire of Pine (2025) and The Spider (2025).
